Audition Prep

PREREQUISITE: STUDENTS MUST BE A TEEN, HAVE PRIOR VOCAL TRAINING AND IS CONSIDERING PURSUING A
CAREER IN THE ARTS : (MUSICAL THEATRE, THEATRE, VOICE).
This class is designed for students who are interested in auditioning for theatre/musical theatre/voice. This class focuses on:
– Songs – Students will select an audition appropriate song under the guidance of the
teacher and prepare the piece while being introduced to WPA acting tools.
– Mock Auditions – Students will participate in mock auditions with their prepared songs. – On-Camera Audition Technique – Students will explore WPA acting tools to maximize performance for prepared and cold read auditions. Nowadays, colleges are requiring students to pass a prescreen audition before moving on to a live audition, so having the proper recording can help the student move on to the next level of acceptance into a college program. Professional actors are also building their audition reels and this helps prepare the young actor for their career as an artist.
The goal is for students to leave the class with prepared material and the confidence to do well in their auditions! This class is on-going, and can be taken multiple times.
